The permanent exhibition provides insight into the diversity of this unique landscape. Extensive information is available on the creation of Thuringia's largest pond landscape, the development of the nature reserve's protected area up to the "European Bird Sanctuary", its importance as a breeding and migration area for many bird species and environmental education. Possibilities for recording plant species and evaluating bird observations as well as scientific bird ringing are presented. You can listen to the frog concert or various bird songs.
In the outdoor area you can see various nesting opportunities for cave-nesting creatures such as tits, pied flycatchers, swifts, swallows, dippers and bats. Nesting aids for white storks, ospreys, ducks or insects encourage imitation.
Some of the specimens are displayed in showcases. Our new “petting polecat” should be new and very appealing to children. Finally a product you can touch! The wildlife of the Plothen pond area can now even be experienced “tangibly”.

The information point is a suitable starting point for hikes and walks on the nature trail.
