The foundation stone for a winery was laid here in 1916. After 30 years, the estate as well as the farmland and vineyards were bequeathed to his hometown of Alzey.
The historic building on Schlossgasse was renovated and restored in the 1990s. In the city winery, wine can be tasted and purchased in the vinotheque.

In the city winery you can sit outside and enjoy a nice wine when Covid 19 is not raging. Usually events (e.g. on Mardi Gras) also take place here. At the moment it is only open for wine sales.
