"Slowly the Silberbach meanders through the area between Feldrom and Leopoldstal in the southern Teutoburg Forest. The Silberbachtal lies below Velmerstot in Lippe and invites hikers and walkers to take a romantic tour through nature. The Silberbach rises south of Feldrom and flows through Osningsandstein am Buchenberg over.

In the 17th century, the water power of the Silberbach was used to operate several mills. In 1710 silver was searched for and found in the stream. However, the quantities found were so small that the search was soon ended and as early as 1711 the building in which ore had been washed the year before was converted into a mill, today's silver mill. Several hiking trails lead through this area. In part, the well-known Hermannsweg runs parallel to the stream."
