A rock tower with a summit book is not unusual in the Reinhäuser Forest south of Göttingen. But here further north in the Lauseberg region?

Close to the forest path towards Krebeck is a rock spur as a remnant of former quarry activities. It is somewhat hidden and in summer it is covered by elderberries, nettles and thorn bushes. It has vertical to overhanging walls on all sides. There is a relatively easy ascent through the lower north face. There is a small summit book on the plateau.

The rock formation is listed in the DAV rock information system under Göttingerwald / Ebergötzenergebiet / Innsbrucker Turm. Here the ascent with the III. Difficulty level UIAA rated. For the inexperienced, memorizing the steps for the descent can be useful. If you tumble, you will fall into the undergrowth on an irregular surface. Take care of yourselves!

Because of the uncomfortable access, a visit to this point is recommended in late autumn to spring, when there are no more nettles.
