Remischen is a typical, traditional wine glass of the Nahe growing area. The name is derived from French (la remise = wine storage shed) and Latin.
Remmissorium (lat): The measure of wine that the monks were allowed to drink at 11 o'clock after the exertion of morning prayers and masses.
Remittere (lat) = pour back. Since a whole bottle was too much for many guests, the landlord poured half of it back with a sense of proportion and offered half a bottle
