On linear hikes, the hiker must use public transport once. The train the group boarded was so incredibly full that 4 of us couldn't fit anymore. Let alone 4 🐕 (Alfons, Curt, Molly and Emil).
Luckily, there are nice fellow hikers who pick you up in their car in such cases.
I know why I prefer circular hikes.

This hike marked the end of Easter 2026. By 🚗 to Bingen, from there by the rather full 🚆 to Oberwesel. Then walk. And the crowning finale was the 2.5-hour return trip by ship of the BingenRüdesheim fleet. 🐕 pay nothing and those over 60 get a 30% discount on the regular fare 👍 @Horst organized a
