    The water towers of Gelsenwssser💚💙:

    The tanks from 1908 & 1934/35

with 4,000 & 5,000 cubic meters of water capacity,

    29 & 32 meters high↕️,

are connected to the waterworks in Haltern am See via a 20 kilometer long & up to 1.20 meter thick pipe, which supplies the towers with fresh drinking water💧.

The two together have a facade area of 700 square meters.

In 2012, to mark Gelsenwasser's 125th anniversary, both towers were renovated and given a new blue-green coat of paint. This required 1.7 tons of primer, 1.8 tons of paint for the intermediate coat and 1.3 tons of paint for the final coat. The two towers together have a facade area of 700 square meters.
