Schwaig Castle[13]; former Zeidelmuttergut from the 15th century. The core of the main building dates from the second half of the 16th century and was renovated in the middle of the 18th century. The property belonged to the landlord and then to Ebner "before the age".[14] In 1545, the imperial city approved an extension of the already existing manor house for Hanns Dietz, a citizen of Nuremberg. As a result, it changed hands more frequently, and Hans Christoph Gugel inherited the manor through marriage around 1589.Source: Wikipedia

The Schwaiger Castle was devastated in the Second Margrave War in 1552 and in the Thirty Years' War. The castle was owned by various Nuremberg patrician families. The building was acquired by the Evangelical parish of Behringersdorf in 1952 and then passed to the new parish of Schwaig. In 1972, the municipality of Schwaig bought the castle. The Schwaiger Castle Festival takes place annually in September.Source: Wikipedia
