Rheinsberg Castle is located about 100 km northwest of Berlin in the Ruppiner Land. The place impresses with its picturesque location on the Grienericksee.
The romantic castle and the wonderful surroundings make Rheinsberg one of the most popular destinations in Brandenburg.
Behind Rheinsberg Castle there is a landing stage for passenger ships that offer tours through the Rheinsberg lake landscape.
Rheinsberg Castle houses the Kurt Tucholsky Literature Museum.

The Rheinsberg Music Academy, which runs the palace theater, has been housed in the former Kavaliershaus since 1991.
Since 1991, the sounds of singing and instrumental rehearsals have been wafting across the park and lake, and the international opera festival Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg has also taken place in the castle theater (Kavalierhaus), castle courtyard and natural theater.

The beautiful castle garden invites you to linger and stroll. Visited in each case the big orangery that unfortunately was not finished.

In 1774, Prince Heinrich of Prussia, the brother of King Friedrich II, had the new »Komödienhaus« built by his master builder, Carl Wilhelm Hennert. It is a venue for musical theater and drama: 94 feet long with two tiers supported by twisted columns. The stage measures around 15 by 17 meters and, including the stage technology, meets the most modern requirements of the time. In this theater, Heinrich offers everything that one can rarely experience in Berlin because of Friedrich's "dusty" taste: modern French and Italian opera. After Heinrich's death, the performances of the palace theater were discontinued. The theater gradually falls into disrepair. On April 29, 1945, the theater was hit by a shell and largely destroyed. In 1994 the reconstruction of the theater was planned under the direction of the architect Gottfried Hein, which reopened on December 30, 1999 with the opera "Kronprinz Friedrich" by Siegfried Matthus as a production of the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera.
