The small Marienkirche at the end of Kolk-Gasse is Berlin's second oldest Catholic church, built after the Reformation. It stands on ground steeped in history. Excavations on its north wall revealed not only a well from the 14th century, but also traces of settlement from the Stone Age.

Hiking

It is Berlin's second oldest Catholic church after the Reformation. Around 1720, Catholic workers from Liège came to the rifle factory in Spandau, for which a chapel was built. In 1848 a larger church was consecrated on the Behnitz and later became a Catholic garrison church. After the Second World War it was rarely used and fell into disrepair. Starting in 2002, it was restored based on the design from 1895 and has shone in new splendor ever since

It is located in the Kolk and worth the visit (Alt Spandau) In Kolk is still a piece of the old Spandau city wall preserved. Who goes through the Kolk comes to Spandau lock and Lindenufer. The Uferweg leads up to the Heerstr., Also leads at the confluence of the Spree in the Havel. On the other side, the path leads to the water town of Spandau, past the former brewery and the bridge to the island of Eiswerder.
