The Foppenplas is the part of the Foppenpolder that was flooded in 1989 for water recreation, as part of the Reconstruction of the Midden-Delfland area. The lake is located on three important Vlieten that were dug to drain excess water to the Maas/Nieuwe Waterweg. These are the Noordvliet, Middelvliet and Boonervliet.
