Yes, it is true that the clear trees on the main hiking trail in the direction of the Bodensteiner Klippen give you a really nice view at this point. The tower mentioned cannot be found in this area. The Jägerturm is located above Heere in the forest on an elevation named after him: the Northern Jägerturmskopf. Since it was never intended as a lookout tower, it is not open to the public today either.
