The office building is a beautiful half-timbered house with very rich architectural decoration. It is not far from the town hall.

The Themar administrative building is considered to be one of the main works of the Henneberg-Franconian half-timbered architecture and was built in 1665 as part of the urban renewal process after the Thirty Years' War. The quarry stone masonry on the ground floor of the north wing, where the walls of the round-arched portal are walled in, which were later changed by window openings, is an indication that this building, comparable to the town hall, continues the remains of a previous building at this point. A hundred years ago, older building remains in the back buildings of the official courtyard as well as the remains of defensive walls and moats were much more recognizable, so that it can be assumed that the building was built on the site of a medieval self-fortification that was probably also lost in 1634.

The Amtshaus is actually the most impressive and beautiful house in Themar and is built in a typical Henneberg half-timbered style.

The former office building with front vestibule and outbuildings was built in 1665.
The nationally significant two-story building was built in the Henneberg-Franconian half-timbered style.
              The restoration began in 1995.
Today it houses the wedding hall and the home parlor.
