Hiking

Kethel was once an independent village north of Schiedam. Since 1941, the village has become part of the city of Schiedam. What was special about this village was that it had two city centers, the old and the new village center. The old village center is located around the Dutch Reformed Village Church. The newer center, also called Kerkbuurt, is located northeast of the old center near the Catholic Sint-Sint-Jacobus Church. Both churches are national monuments.
