Hiking

The Villa Braunswerth was completed in 1855 in the classical style. The villa consists of a central building and two side wings, which were used as apartments for the Barmer manufacturer Friedrich Engels sen. (1796-1860) and his sons Emil and Hermann served. The reason for this was probably the simultaneous fundamental technical modernization of the water-powered cotton spinning mill on the Agger, which had been in existence for a good decade.
