When the poinsettia on the tower is lit, the tower is closed to visitors. Here you have to wait until the end of January, the tower can be climbed again.

The easiest and most beautiful access from below is from Stiefelhagen. Follow the closed road until the bend. There is a high fence to protect the nature reserve from cyclists. At the left end of the fence is a lookout with benches. There you go on a path around the fence and then follow it below the quarry. The last climb is facilitated by steps and a railing. Even from the path you can enjoy the beautiful view.
Who wants to have it even easier, goes from Hollenberg: here there is almost no slope. The way leads on the contrary usually downhill. (The tower is not at the highest point of the mountain range.)
