The Schwerin Observatory was opened in 1962 as a school observatory. In the public demonstrations, visitors - private individuals, students or groups - learn which constellations, planets or other spectacular celestial bodies can be observed. If you want to take a look at the real sky, come on Friday evening. That's when, if the weather is clear, the round roof above the observatory platform opens and reveals the huge telescope. The nighttime celestial bodies are observed together with the speakers from the Astronomical Society.
