Tips
Today's customs house was built in the 17th century. However, there were previous buildings, because the route of the "Golden Road" was already well frequented in the Middle Ages. The customs formalities required a stay, so restaurants and hotels were built in the immediate vicinity. Even today they are called "Zollhaus-Hotel" and Zollhauscafe in other places.
