The Blocksberg is a tumulus in Kühlungsborn in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is located in the southern part of the Kühlungsborn city forest.
In the 1950s, children playing found pottery shards and a clay pot on the Blocksberg, which was clearly visible as a hill. Archaeological preservationists checked this. In 1957, other information states the year 1958, excavations were carried out on the 2.5 meter high hill. Its diameter is 13 meters.
During the excavations, one from the Bronze Age between 1800 and 600 BC was discovered. A grave complex dating back to 2000 BC was found. In addition to a main grave, there were two additional burials. All three stone graves were largely empty. A burn site belonging to the death cult was also found. The burial mound was originally surrounded by a stone circle.
The name Blocksberg refers to the fact that this hill was considered a place where witches danced at night under the rule of the devil in the form of a goat.
