Near the monastery of Seligenthal, the Mönchweg passes the remnants of the Ummigbach bridge. Originally part of the Wahnbachtalstraße, which connected Siegburg with Much, it was blown up on 8 April 1945 by the German Wehrmacht in the retreat to cut the way for the Americans. In historical pictures you can see how the bridge once spanned the valley. In the meantime nature has recaptured large parts of the area and only this ruin is left.
