Hiking

There is no official route on this small viewing hill with a cross and bench, and one is marked on Komoot, but not on the Swiss map. For me the terrain was snowy and no way to be seen.

This wonderful vantage point is easy to reach and offers a wonderful all-round view and of course the one to the Alpstein is particularly beautiful!

Does this beautiful vantage point over the Appenzellerland, which unfortunately is not shown on the Swiss map (but it is in the Komoot, thank you), really have no name? Locals said to me: Yes, yes, we call the point "Fuchsenkreuz". This rather unusual name motivated me to research, which brought the following findings: the name has to do with the family name Fuchs and with Chrüüz, i.e. crossing at the Fuchs family plot, at the property of Bartli Fuchs (farm a few hundred meters south ).
