The Cathedral Basilica of St. John Evangelist, commonly referred to as St. John's Cathedral, in the center of 's-Hertogenbosch is often considered the pinnacle of Brabantine Gothic. The particularly harmonious interior is the result of the unity of style that was maintained throughout the construction period from the end of the fourteenth to the beginning of the sixteenth century. The exterior, with its generous ornaments, such as the double flying buttresses with the 96 flying buttress figures and the reliefs above the windows, provides a striking picture of the decorative urge of the late Gothic. St. John is 'a structure that is completely unique in Dutch ecclesiastical architecture.'

The imposing and impressive St. John's Cathedral in
Den Bosch, built between 1370 and 1529.
A church servant told me that to maintain the church, 3.5 million euros have to be raised every year.
The cathedral, along with many other sights and the romantic alleys, is probably the most visited highlight in this beautiful city.
