For history buffs... At this location you can start the Red Walk and become acquainted with a solid piece of history. In the nearby area, at the Zeepeduinen and at Haamstede Castle, you will find dozens of bunkers from the Second World War. Take the stairs up and get to know the Walvisbunker (Wingbunker). Once up there you can't miss it. Many bats hibernate in the many bunkers, which you will also find next to the cycle path.
Get off the bike and set off along the Red Walk (4km) and discover this piece of history.

Hiking

Beautifully maintained bunker that was used by the Germans during the Second World War as Commando Bunker Type 117a, part of the Atlantic Wall. The bunker is not open to the public (the outside area is). This large command bunker has 15 rooms and an observation dome. The bunker is located in the Slotbos near Haamstede and is clearly visible from the Moolweg.
