Until 2018, the entire cement production process took place in the ENCI quarry in the St. Pietersberg in Maastricht: the extraction of limestone in open-pit mining, the production of the semi-finished clinker, and finally the grinding of this clinker into cement.
The ENCI area is now a beautiful place to walk and enjoy all the beautiful plants and animals the area has to offer.
