Chapel of St. Joseph
The St. Josef Chapel in Planken, built in 1767/68, has been a listed building since 1951. The little church belonging to the parish of Schaan has already undergone several renovations in its building history. In 1861 the chapel was given a bell tower on the western gable side.
In 1909 the church floor was renewed and new church stalls were installed, which are still preserved today. In 1929 the church was again extensively renovated. Prince Franz I of Liechtenstein donated three neo-baroque altars with excellent copies of old masters' pictures.
Another redesign took place in 1955. In the aftermath of the Second Vatican Council, Provincial Vicar Johannes Tschuor had the altar moved from the east wall to the center of the choir in 1866. In 1984 a small organ with seven registers was purchased instead of a harmonium. In 2007 a comprehensive church renovation was carried out.
