Mountain Biking Highlight
Right next to the A8 in the city of Augsburg is the nature reserve "Firnhaberauheide", a small remnant of the original "Lechheide".
A gem is the ball-shaped flowers that grow there. Sheep keep fast-growing grasses short, so that they can exist. An even greater rarity is the Rotleibige Grasshopper, which is otherwise extinct in the Lech Valley and can only be found in the Firnhaberauheide. For more information: augsburgwiki.de/index.php/AugsburgWiki/Firnhaberauheide
