The small lake referred to in the highlight as "Torfstich Hoppegarten" is actually the "Kiesstich Hoppegarten". The actual peat cut is the northeastern part of the Maxsee. The approximately 2.5 hectare gravel cut, created by gravel mining, is a popular fishing spot. In recent years the beaver has conquered the lake. The damage around the lake is evident in the bank area.
