In the historic center of Monreal there are numerous half-timbered houses from the 15th to 18th centuries. One of the most beautiful views of the half-timbered magic can be seen from the "lower Schossbrücke".
"Schossbrücke" is not a misprint. The name probably comes from the water of the Elzbach that rushes under the bridge during floods. In times of war, the bridge arches could also be closed with strong railings.
