This church was built between 1449 and 1525. It was badly damaged in a senseless bombardment about 500 years later (1940) and luckily rebuilt from 1952 to 1968.

The Grote or Laurenskerk is a well-known Gothic church in Rotterdam. It is the only remnant of the Dutch city in the Middle Ages. Today it is not only used as a religious center for trade fairs and celebrations, but is also the venue for many concerts, exhibitions, lectures and sometimes even parties. You should especially visit the exhibitions in the old walls, as they are particularly varied and designed to be more than just informative.
