It is an unpaved forest path that invites you to take a leisurely ride. A nice alternative to the straight, radially arranged avenues from the castle, for driving through the Hardtwald.
The trail was named after Karl Knierer (1869-1950), the chief forest officer in Karlsruhe. The Gustav-Jacob-Hütte ("Forest Center") and the hunting memorial stone in honor of Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden (own highlight) are also on it.
