From time immemorial, perhaps even on the ruins of a Roman altar, there was a small sanctuary here very popular with pilgrims from the valley who venerated the Madonna dei Dolori. We also went up to propitiate the crops of the countryside and an abundant harvest. The curious name (Collagù) derives from the sharp shape of the hill adjacent to the sanctuary (colle acu-to). The name is very ancient, and attests settlements since the Bronze Age.

Between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries this place was left in neglect and ruin. In the 1930s, for a vote, the noble Bottari De Castello family built the small church accompanied by the bell tower, as we now see them, on neo-romantic forms of good taste, with a splendid fresco in the external portico. In 1932 the relics of Sant'Emilio were placed, the complex was consecrated and dedicated to the Beata Vergine Addolorata.

A beautiful, isolated, solitary, silent place, surrounded by a riot of terraces and vineyards.
