The Gianni Brera civic arena, also just Arena, is a multifunctional sports facility in Milan. Inaugurated in 1807 as an Amphitheatre, in 1870 it became the Civic Arena after passing to the Milanese municipality. In 2002 the Arena was named in memory of Gianni Brera, journalist and writer, who had passed away ten years earlier.
