The church of the fishing village was built in 1885 as a brick building. It exudes a special atmosphere. The tower, also made of brick, was built in 1865 and comes from the previous building. The village and the church were completely burned down on August 27, 1767 due to carelessness. The church and bell were restored in 1777. The organ built by the Wittstock organ builder Lütkemüller is still completely intact, but can no longer be used.

More than other sacred buildings, it takes the visitor into the period around 1900. It is often used as a place of silence.
