The Murgtalweg in the direction of Rastatt is one of the few bike paths for the whole family. It runs largely off the road and steadily downhill in this direction with a few small inclines.
And Beiersbronn is ideal for a little rest and a coffee on the side of the path, as you can sit outside and keep an eye on your bike.
And if you don't want to drive through to Rastatt, get on the train in Forbach and drive back to the starting point in Freudenstadt.

The Murg Valley Cycle Path or Tour de Murg is an enchanting cycle path that leads into a wide, lush valley in the upper valley near Freudenstadt, which narrows and becomes more rugged at Schönmünzach at the latest, until it widens again at Weisenbach.
The route is very suitable for all abilities, as it leads consistently downhill and only contains 2-3 really easy and short climbs, 2 of which are crossing under the railway. The tour is usually given as 8 hours, here are arrival time and breaks incl.
The most beautiful section for me is from Freudenstadt to Gaggenau, here you need 1 1/4 hours by train to go up and 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the descent. If you rest a lot or stop a lot on the way, correspondingly longer. There are plenty of opportunities to rest, unfortunately the tour usually does not lead through the towns, so you should think about it beforehand if you want to stop there. But there are also one or the other rest stops on the tour.

Very nice well-developed bike path, which follows the course of the Murg

The Murgtalradweg is almost only downhill, offers a lot of variety and is beautifully landscaped. It usually runs near the S-Bahn line so that you can always go back by train.

Nice with children when you go down the Murg. Then back with the S-Bahn.
There are many playgrounds along the way and lots to discover.

The Murgtalradweg mostly goes downhill from Freudenstadt. And it is very well developed.

    Murg Valley Cycle Path:
The "Murgtalradtour" is a very nice way to get to know the northern Black Forest. The "Murgtalradweg" is one of the most beautiful Black Forest tours.
It starts at the "Alexanderschanze" and leads downhill on asphalt paths.
One of the steepest climbs is in "Mitteltal" and it is only a good sixty meters high, otherwise it is really almost all downhill and the 500 meters to the Rhine plain!
The views of the sometimes narrow, gorge-like Black Forest valley are beautiful.
If you cycle the tour on sunny days, the forest offers enough shade.
If your companions love the sun more than anything, the route may be dubbed a "tour for sun allergy sufferers".
But nothing diminishes the imposing nature experience through the forest of the raftsmen to the Rhine valley.
The tour is only suitable for children if you avoid the steep descents, there are also warning signs along the way.

The cycle path can be ridden in two alternatives:

    1. From the Alexanderschanze to Plittersdorf
This longer variant described here, which comes from the Black Forest High Road and includes the use of the Rhine Cycle Path. Entry is possible at numerous locations.

    2. From Freudenstadt to Rastatt
This is the easiest way, because the Murg Valley Railway can be used to go uphill, creating a round trip. Also called "Tour de Murg".
