There is a wonderful view from the Bernhardstein, the view up here is magnificent. Bastei, Königstein, Lilienstein, Gohrisch, Papststein, the Schrammsteine and much more can be seen in a wonderful panorama.

The 424m high mountain, formerly known as “Kegelstein”, got its name from a Hermsdorf manor owner who promoted the development of the mountain for tourism. After its development, the mountain became a popular vantage point into the Bielatal and the “World of Stones”.

According to the explanatory board, Napoleon's troops cut down the entire massif in the early autumn of 1813 and converted it into an entrenchment for the French troop camp near Langenhennersdorf.
