In 1996, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Schmitz-Hübsch fruit-growing business, an interesting museum opened in a former canned fruit production hall about the history of fruit-growing, which was strongly influenced by the family business. Numerous exhibits, including the oldest fruit cooling machine in Germany, and historical photos bring the development of fruit growing to life, from the formerly tall fruit trees to the small tree forms that are common in modern fruit growing.

On a total of 35 hectares of land, Roland Schmitz-Hübsch, great-grandson of the company founder, grows the finest apple, pear and cherry varieties according to the guidelines of integrated fruit growing. The loess loam soils, on which the trees thrive so magnificently, are considered “the best ever”. Great-grandfather Otto is known as the pioneer of modern fruit growing. Today the entire production of 20 apple, four pear and 13 sweet cherry varieties is marketed directly from the farm. For the 100th anniversary in 1996, the first fruit-growing museum in Germany was opened in an old hall that was used to fill canned goods until 1945.

Bicycle stand with sockets for charging e-bikes. Nice little cafe to stop by with delicious breakfast until 11:00 a.m. and great varieties of apple cake.
