Today's town hall reflects the fundamental idea of the renovation: the old was not replaced by the new, but integrated into it.

The new town hall thus nestles around the stately building of the former municipal office from 1592, which has shaped the townscape. This is where the bailiff administered the Güglingen district, which had existed since the 14th century.

In keeping with the needs of a modern town and its structures, the premises had to be expanded and made more efficient and flexible. The complex, built between 1983 and 1988, incorporated groundbreaking elements unusual for its time, including an atrium used for a variety of activities and a spacious council chamber. The "spiritus rector of all this" was immortalized by Ursula Stock in a relief in the atrium.
