The memorial is right on Minna-Planer-Weg. Minna Planer was born in Oederan in 1809 and was an actress when she met Richard Wagner in 1834. They get married 2 years later. The marriage failed in 1858. Minna Planer died in Dresden in 1866.

The Richard Wagner Monument was dedicated on May 19, 1935.
The memorial stone stands in the park at the Little Ore Mountains on Minna-Planer-Weg. The monument consists of three roughly hewn boulders of mica schist. A bronze relief with a portrait bust of Richard Wagner is affixed to the central stone. The side stones bear two bronze inscription plaques.
