This view is located on the hiking / cycling route from Oederan to Freiberg via Kirchbach and Oberschöna. Far away from the busy B173, which is totally unsuitable for cyclists, you will cycle along side roads and many forest trails that protect you from the wind, rain and blazing sun. Unfortunately, the views up to the Erzgebirge are rare. At this point, however, everything comes together: A refuge, surrounded on two sides by forest and therefore sheltered from the wind, no vehicle traffic and just the view up to the Erzgebirge and over to the "Burgl" as the Erzgebirge call the Augustusburg. After most of the Oederan climb has been made, it's the right place to take a breather! Also popular with cross-country skiers in winter.
