The Presteneck moated castle in the Neuenstadt district of Stein am Kocher was built between 1579 and 1583. It is a three-winged Renaissance structure. There is a round tower on one corner (northeast). The Lords of Gemmingen (then local lords of the Bürg district) immortalized themselves as the builders with a large, magnificent coat of arms above the entrance gate.

The moated castle was extensively renovated between 1976 and 1981, as it had fallen into disrepair in the years before.

The building has been occupied by condominiums since 1998. Therefore, the castle is unfortunately not open to visitors.
