A common type of bunker near airfields during the Second World War, this Battle Command Headquarters is an incredible relic from that time. It lies above the airfield in Newlands Plantation.

Quiet and hidden away, this bunker has an eerie feel about it and reminds you that this countryside wasn’t always as peaceful as it is today.

Unfortunately despite spending about 20 minutes in the area, we couldn’t find it. The whole area was covered in rhododendrens.
