The Wissenbeemd was chosen by Pasar (the former Holiday Pleasures) as the most beautiful spot in Bekkevoort.

The Wissenbeemd is hidden in the Begijnenbeek valley and is caught between the Provinciebaan and the Begijnenbeek, which flows at the foot of the Hermansheuvel.
The Diestiaan hill was already inhabited three to four thousand years before Christ by the so-called Michelberger culture. The hollow roads that lead to this place are among the most beautiful in the region.

Hiking

Like all meadows, the Wissenbeemd is located in a stream valley and so there are sometimes muddy paths or stretches. The Wissenbeemd also has a lot to offer in the spring. Natuurpunt: "In the spring, the Wissenbeemd wraps itself in its most beautiful dress. Carpets of wood anemone, wood sorrel, viper root, spotted arum cover the forest floor."
