Zeulsdorf was first mentioned in a document on October 22, 1409 in connection with a Friedrich von Gropz zu Zeulsdorf as an old castle man of the town bailiff of Gera. Over the centuries Zeulsdorf was part of the Gera rulership. In 1827 the place comprised 16 houses with 93 inhabitants in addition to the manor (Wikipedia).
