Hiking

Station 5 on the memorial path marks one of the most gruesome places in the area. 75 inmates of the Hailfingen-Tailfingen satellite camp were buried in a mass grave at this spot. On June 1, 1945, two surviving French soldiers showed the grave. Tailfinger residents were forced to open the tomb. "They looked like rotten turnips," was the succinct statement of eyewitnesses at the time.
