The Kochhart is the longest tributary of the Neckar tributary Ammer in central Baden-Württemberg, with a length of almost 16 kilometers on the main line. It is also known as Kochhartgraben or Kochenhartgraben and, after running in a southeast to east-northeast direction, flows into the Ammer from the right in Reusten. The valley in the lower reaches of the Kochhart is also known as Kochhartgraben; it is part of the Kochhartgraben and Ammertalhange nature reserve.

The Kochhartgraben and Ammertalhänge area is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen Regional Council by ordinance of December 21, 1995, and a European bird protection area designated by the state of Baden-Württemberg by ordinance of February 5, 2010, in the district of Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The nature reserve has an area of 103 hectares and is located between Hailfingen and Poltringen in the Kochhartgraben and the Ammertal. It consists of eight partial areas. The area belongs naturally to the Neckar- und Tauber-Gäuplatten and is located in the geological unit of the Upper Muschelkalk.
