Halse spui: one of the infrastructures with which the traditional fluid management was maintained. The Tappelbeek was dammed up, the water ran over the adjacent meadows via canals to the Binnenste Monnikenloop, and the water was thus drained back. Possibilities are being examined whether management such as bleeds is possible again in the future. The quality of the Tappelbeek will also be a determining factor in this regard.

The Tappelbeek runs from north to south through the Zoerselbos. This drain served to irrigate the Hooidonkse Beemden and thus achieve a higher hay yield.
