The church of St. Michael is located southwest near the Goethe memorial, in the middle of the village. The originally late Romanesque choir tower church was redesigned in the late Gothic style in the 15th century and was given a baroque dome in the 17th century. Particularly worth seeing is the winged altar from 1490, which is an important work of carving from Saalfeld, and the organ built in 1875 by Carl Lösche from Rudolstadt.
