On a hill near Heinersdorf lies the radio relay operating station 4 (RFB-4), one of a total of 10 radio relay stations of the NVA (East Germany). The relatively small facility, measuring approximately 1 hectare, was protected by a high-voltage installation (HSA) and housed a monolithic bunker of protection class E (max. up to protection class "F"). It is a reuse project from the 1960s for radio relay operating stations; most other RFBs are presumably of the same or similar design. The crew was around 20 people, and the usual protective structure technology, such as a lock with bypass, emergency power system (NEA), and filter systems for the supply air, can also be found here. The highlight is certainly the wood-paneled walls in the main transmitter room, stylish but with an unnecessary fire load. The NEA was housed in an annex, accessible via a connecting tunnel. RFB-4 is currently the only facility of its type in Brandenburg that is still freely accessible; all other RFBs are being reused by the Bundeswehr for automated purposes. Only a separately fenced cell phone tower with a microwave connection remains on the site.

The site is one of ten former NVA radio relay stations and the only one that is still accessible today. All others are in subsequent use by the Bundeswehr. Inside there are numerous rooms to explore, a flashlight/headlamp is absolutely useful here. Perhaps the most interesting is the main broadcast room, which has been clad in wood. As in all Lost Places, proceed with extreme caution. There are shards of glass lying around and pieces of metal hanging at eye level.
