The whole ensemble is very beautiful. The dam wall of the Aprather mill pond was extensively renovated. The old mill was bought by the local mill owner and on request you can see old pictures and finds of the demolished Aprath Castle in the otherwise inaccessible mill.
The Mühlenwirt is particularly proud that he had two Federal Presidents as guests in his quaint, traditional café / restaurant: Johannes Rau liked to play skat at a table next to the stove and Christian Wulf came over as a guest after a lecture at Beyer.

May 2021: Crossing under the A 535 I reach the Düssel at the Koxhof, which accompanies me a picturesque stretch to the Aprather Mühlenteich and further.
At the latest at the mill, the quiet is over and it is difficult for me to find a peaceful place to sit for my midday vespers.
Between Aprather Mühle and the historic town of Düssel, the asphalt strip called Düsseler Feld runs dead straight, on which I find a fine bench in the middle for my break.
