The Zellsee is an artificial lake in the area of the municipality Wessobrunn in the district Weilheim-Schongau. He is not a (!) Bathing lake but serves for fish farming.

The flora and fauna has a lot to offer here. On and in the water, the animal world is always on the move.

Current info: Unfortunately, this path has not been available since the beginning of 2022. The map is already up to date at Komoot.

Instead, you now have to switch to the main road WM8 between Zellsee and Paterzell

        - is nicely smooth asphalted (advantage)

        - has no bike path (ugh!)

        - is heavily trafficked (double lane)

        - involves some elevation gain and additional inclines (about 6%) (some like that)

        - is further away from the Zellsee (so nothing with a nice view of the same)

You can also partially switch to the side road to Schönwag. There is little traffic, but there are additional meters of altitude with a short, crisp climb (up to 10%) and then a short, steep descent garnished with a sharp turn to the right (if in the direction of Paterzell).

It is very difficult to get to the Zellsee now, the beautiful view is passé. Unfortunately.

Background and details: see Merkur Online from March 11, 2022, title "Farmer closes popular cycle and hiking trail - concerns about dangerous alternative routes"

Preliminary information on the title: That was not the idea of the farmer himself.

Another tip: If, as before, you pass the Moosmühle bswp. If you want to drive to Zellsee, Hahnenbühel/Weilheim or Peißenberg, then you have two options to drive through the Eibenwald via parts of the Eibenwaldpfad.

This is really nice, BUT: where it is steep and because there are many pedestrians/hikers at certain times, please dismount and push! It's a hiking trail, not a bike path.
